Background and Training

About Me

I am a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Prior to the establishment of the College, I worked in a variety of community service and mental health counselling positions over a fifteen-year period. The programs I worked in and assisted in designing targeted youth and adult-focused addictions and recovery, parenting and family counselling, suicide prevention, domestic violence, trauma recovery, and assisting persons leaving carceral sentences.

I have received more than eleven hundred hours of training from medical and psychological experts in best clinical best practices at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, The Ontario Provincial Police, Children’s Aid Societies, The British Columbia and The Ontario Ministries of Children and Family Services, and with medical teams and psychiatric teams from Coastal and Fraser Health Authorities in British Columbia and a variety of Ontario Regional Health Authorities. I obtained more than ten thousand hours of documented clinically supervised mental health counselling hours. I continue to receive bi-weekly clinical supervision from a retired neuropsychologist.

I have been practicing psychotherapy for fourteen years. I offer individual, couples and youth counseling. I have worked with people from communities throughout Canada, and my practice welcomes persons from all religions, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.
